The Northern Ireland Practical Shooting Association was established in 2007 to promote the sport of Practical Pistol Shooting. With the now almost complete ban on "Restricted" Full-Bore pistols in the Republic of Ireland (October 2009) we recognise that now more than ever, there is a need for a governing body in Northern Ireland that will accommodate applications for membership, regardless of where you reside on the island and we do welcome applications from those who reside in the Republic of Ireland and who would like to continue shooting Practical Pistol matches. Our membership is not based on citizenship, so no matter what your nationality you will be made more than welcome, to be eligible for membership you can either have been born in Northern Ireland or currently live here, we think that should just about cover everyone. Club Practical Pistol Competitions are being held on a very regular basis in Northern Ireland, with shooters from all corners of the island travelling to ranges to compete, we can only name a few of the clubs here, they are the Dunnyboe and Bracken Clubs both in County Tyrone, Ballymena and Kells Rifle & Pistol Clubs both in County Antrim and the monthly competitions held at the "Northern Ireland Target Sports Association" ranges located six miles north of Newry in Co. Down. The Northern Ireland Practical Shooting Association feel that competitive shooting should be available to every decent law abiding individual, so if you want to have the option of participating in this challenging, exciting and FUN sport, then you need to complete the membership form.
